Defesa : Curitiba, 1991Inclui referênciasÁrea de concentração : Literatura brasileiraResumo: Na presente dissertação analisamos a obra A Grande Arte de Rubem Fonseca sob a perspectiva teórica de Mikhail Bakhtin, procurando apreender como a visão de mundo do escritor sobre os temas do amor e da violência se torna realidade formal no e pelo discurso romanesco. 0 romance foi apreendido como uma forma composicional de natureza plurilingüe, plurivocal e pluriestilística que possibilitou ao autor construir a sua visão artística sobre os > referidos temas a partir da organização das varias visões de mundo dos diversos personagens que se posicionam sobre o amor e a violência. Dentro dessa perspectiva, detivemo-nos no estudo das falas dos personagens, constatando que a concepção de mundo do escritor sobre o homem amando e exercendo a violência não se realiza por intermédio de um enunciado direto, definitivo e hegemônico, mas se configura de maneira interacional, aberta, objetiva, critica e autocrítica no interior das interrelações dialógicas estabelecidas entre os vários discursos realizadores da obra. Embora não localizamos no texto um discurso estável, fechado e conclusivo sobre os temas, percebemos que ocorre a nível do contexto narrativo maior orientado pela consciência lingüístico-ideológica do autor, uma valorização das posturas ideológicas de determinados personagens que entendem e explicam a violência como uma realidade sócio-histórica, não ineren te a. condição humana. Em relaçao ao amor, constatamos que determinadas práticas amorosas mais totalizadoras que conjugam aspectos sexuais, culturais, sentimentais e intelectuais são mais valorizadas que outras, mais restritas. Finalmente, concluímos que em A Grande Arte, o autor ficcionalizando as relações de amor e de violência, presentes na realidade extraliterária, articula um discurso que expõe e constata a existência de um universo social onde coexistem o amor e a crueldade, não visando, porém, transformar ou modificar a realidade por intermédio da palavra literária.Abstract: The present thesis analyses the novel A Grande Arte (The Great Art) by Rubem Fonseca under Mikhail Bakhtin's theoretical view, intending to apprehend how the writer's concept of the world about the themes of love and violence becomes reality inside and through the fictitious discourse. The novel was interpreted as a compositional form of plurilinguistic, plurivocal and pluristylistic nature which allowed the author to build his own artistic view about those themes through the organization of the different concepts of world of the several characters who give their opinions about love and violence. Under such perspective, we focused the character's speechs, concluding that the author's concept of world about man while loving or being violent does not happen through a direct, definitive and hegemonic enuntiation, but through an interational, open, objective, critic as well as an autocritic manner inside the dialogic interrelations established among the several discourses which compound the novel. Although we do not observe in the text a stable, closed and conclusive discourse about the themes, we can see it happens at the level of the main narrative context, driven by the author linguistic and ideologic conscience, an apreciation of the ideologic positions of some characters who understand and explain violence as a social as well as historical reality which is not congenital to the human condition. In relation to love, we found out that specific love acts which are more totalizing, comprehending sexual, cultural, sentimental and intellectual aspects, are more appreciate that others that are more limited. Finally, we concluded that in A Grande Arte, the author, while fictionalizing the relationships of love and violence which are present in the extraliterary reality, articulates a discourse which presents and confirms the existence of a social universe where love and cruelty coexist without aiming however, to transform or to modify reality through the literary word.xiv, 177 f.application/pdfDisponível em formato digitalFonseca, Rubem, 1925-2020.
