Defesa: Curitiba, 24/02/2012Bibliografia: fls.149-152Resumo: Nesta dissertação são apresentadas as práticas vivenciadas pelos agentes brasileiros da Comunidade de Software Livre e de Código Aberto e suas significações acerca da experiência com os artefatos. Buscamos demonstrar as controvérsias tecnocientíficas acerca do software, evidenciadas a partir da conceitualização do Software Livre e de Código Aberto e como estes artefatos constituem e são constituídos por redes sociotécnicas. Descrevemos também as características do modelo colaborativo de produção do Software Livre e de Código Aberto, apontando para a ideia de usuário-desenvolvedor. Ao centrarmos nosso olhar sobre as controvérsias, procuramos demonstrar como os fundadores da proposta controem enunciados, traduzem interesses a fim de conceitualizar os artefatos, de que maneira os agentes apropriam-se destes artefatos e os resignificam. Partindo da orientação teórico-metodológica da Teoria Ator-Rede, investigamos uma extensão das redes sociotécnicas de Software Livre e de Código Aberto, através de aplicação de questionário eletrônico com 80 agentes. A pesquisa aponta para a heterogeneidade de agentes e significações acerca da produção da tecnologia, levando-nos a afirmar que a caixa-preta do software ainda permanece aberta.Abstract: This dissertation presents the practices experienced by the brazilian agents of the Free Software and Open Source Community and their meanings about the experience with the artifacts. We seek to demonstrate the techno-scientific controversies about the software, made evident from the conceptualization of the Free Software and Open Source, and how this artifacts constitute and are constituted by socio-technical networks. We also describe the characteristics of the collaborative model of Free Software and Open Source production, pointing to the user-developer idea. Focusing our attention on the controversies, we seek to demonstrate how the proposal founders construct statements and translate interests in order to conceptualize the artifacts, and how the agents themselves take ownership of these artifacts and give them a new meaning. Based on the theoretical and methodological orientation of Actor-Network Theory, we investigate an extension of Free Software and Open Source sociotechnical networks, through the application of electronic questionnaire with 80 agents.
