Resumo: Archaeological surveys conducted in Bahia over decades allow us to drawan overview of the pre-colonial groups that occupied the territory. Archaeological y grouped into macro social categories from certain diacritic artifacts, were horizons that begin with the societies of hunter-gatherer sand even reach the cultivators, builders of large villages. Notwithstanding the identification of these universes, they should not be considered homogeneous and it is worth affirming the existence of territorial enclaves with forms of social groupings little defined by archeology. This article presents the results achieved in Bahia, following this line of thought.

Agrupados arqueologicamente em macro categorias sociais a partir de certos artefatos diacríticos, formam horizontes que se iniciam com as sociedades de caçadores coletores e chegam até os cultivadores, construtores de grandes aldeias. Não obstante da identificação desses universos, eles não devem ser considerados homogêneos e cabe afirmar a existência de enclaves territoriais com formas de agrupamentos sociais pouco definidos pela Arqueologia.
