Resumo: The article takes as a research object polished stone blades shown on YouTube video channels. The objective is to understand the narratives present in that virtual environment about this very common archaeological artifact. From this body of data, we’ve extracted from the images, captions, and comments the categorizations built there about these pieces. On this article, we’ve identified the main characteristics highlighted by internet users, as well as the conflicting aspects of these speeches. Finally, we evaluate the various degrees of intertwining and / or rupture between common sense and formal conceptions of science, trying to show possibilities of obtaining knowledge based on the data available on YouTube.

O objetivo é compreender as narrativas populares espontâneas presentes neste ambiente virtual a respeito desse artefato arqueológico bastante comum. A partir desse corpo de dados, extrai das imagens, das legendas e dos comentários as categorizações ali construídas sobre essas peças. Identifica as principais características destacadas pelos internautas, bem como as vertentes conflitantes desses discursos.
