Resumo: Considering Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis, this paper aims to critically analyze the discourse materialized in Jair Bolsonaro's tweets, when referring directly or indirectly to racism in Brazil. Methodologically, this work consists of a qualitative investigation carried out from the analysis of 5 tweets taken from Bolsonaro's official Twitter account, during the period in which he was the incumbent president of Brazil. In view of the results obtained, we discovered that the ideological and hegemonic discourse conveyed in the tweets collaborates to the maintenance of asymmetrical relations of power. That said, we inferred that Bolsonaro's tweets deny the existence of structural racism and contribute to its naturalization, by cultivating a discourse that attests to a false racial democracy in Brazilian society.

Desse modo, inferimos que os tuítes de Bolsonaro negam a existência do racismo estrutural e contribuem para a sua naturalização, ao cultivar um discurso que atesta uma falsa democracia racial na sociedade brasileira.UFRGS (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul)2024-04-01info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/cadernosdoil/article/view/13451010.22456/2236-6385.134510Cadernos do IL; n. 67 (2023); 178-2022236-6385reponame:Cadernos do IL (Online)instname:Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS)instacron:UFRGSporhttps://seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/cadernosdoil/article/view/134510/91426Copyright (c) 2024 Débora Brenda Teixeira Silvahttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessTeixeira Silva, Débora Brenda2024-04-01T13:36:27Zoai:seer.ufrgs.br:article/134510Revistahttps://seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/cadernosdoil/PUBhttps://seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/cadernosdoil/oaicadiletras@gmail.com||cadernosdoil@ufrgs.br||cadiletras@gmail.com|| cadernosdoil@ufrgs.br2236-63850104-1886opendoar:2024-04-01T13:36:27Cadernos do IL (Online) - Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS)false
