MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGIES: ANALYSING RESEARCH TOPICS IN FRANCE AND BRAZIL

Resumo: When properly applied and managed, Information Systems (IS) and Information Technologies (IT) provides significant productivity gains, reinvents processes, automates tasks, supports activities that couldn’t possibly be performed without it. It also enables a reduction in operational costs and elimination of unnecessary functions, in addition to enhancing the quickness and accuracy of decisions. The IS research is expected to not only contribute to building a knowledge base for the academy itself, but also to serve IS professionals in organizations. With this purpose, the choice criteria of research topics is crucial. Research topics, however, present significant differences among countries. The goal of this article is to identify the differences in research topics between Brazil and France in the MIS field: a comparison is proposed between the main Brazilian academic congress in the IS field (ENANPAD, Information Management area) and the AIM congress (France), verifying differences in approaches as well as research opportunities.

También hacen posible una reducción en costos operacionales y la eliminación de funciones desnecesarias, además de aumentar la rapidez y precisión de las decisiones. Se espera que la investigación de SI no solamente contribuya  en la construcción de una base de conocimiento académico en si misma, pero que también auxilie profesionales de SI en organizaciones. Con este propósito, el criterio de elección de tópicos de investigación es crucial. Tópicos de investigación, no obstante, presentan diferencias significativas de un país a otro. El objetivo de este artículo es identificar las diferencias en tópicos de investigación entre Brasil y Francia en el campo del MIS: se propone un comparativo entre el principal congreso académico en el campo del IS, en Brasil (ENANPAD, área de Gestión de la Información), y el congreso AIM (Francia), verificando diferencias, tanto en planteos como en oportunidades de investigación.TEXTO (PDF) EM INGLÊSQuando adequadamente aplicados e gerenciados, os Sistemas de Informação (SI) e as Tecnologias de Informação (TI) permitem ganhos significativos em produtividade, reinventam processos, automatizam tarefas, subsidiam atividades impossíveis de serem executadas sem ele. Espera-se que a pesquisa de SI não somente contribua na construção de uma base de conhecimento acadêmico em si mesma, mas também auxilie profissionais de SI em organizações. Com este propósito, o critério de escolha de tópicos de pesquisa é crucial. Tópicos de pesquisa, no entanto, apresentam diferenças significativas de um país para outro.
