LABOR AND POLITICAL SURVIVAL: METIS, THE OTHER INSTANCE OF REASON

Resumo: One of the most effective weapons in the struggle for survival within organizations is political action. Metis, the non logical way of reasoning, knowledge is a critical factor for understanding both constituents and procedures of this struggle. Nevertheless, study of metis has been systematically relegated to a secondary level or confined to aphorisms and maxims. Little or nothing has been added to its comprehension since ancient Greeks identify and interpreted it. This article tries to demonstrate that knowledge advancement on both economic administration and organizations management compels retake metis discussion in contemporary basis.

La compreensión de la métis, la inteligencia no lógica, es un factor decisivo para el entendimiento de los elementos y procesos de esa lucha. Mientras tanto, el estudio de la métis se ha vinido sistematicamente relegando a um plano secundario o reduzido a aforismos y máximas. Poco o nada se acrecentó a su compreensión desde que los antiguos griegos la identificaran y explicaran. En ese texto procuramos demostrar que el perfeccionamiento del saber sobre la conducción de la economía y de la gestión de las organizaciones imponen una retoma de la discusión sobre la métis en bases actuales.Uma das armas mais eficazes na luta pela sobrevivência nas organizações é a da ação política. A compreensão da métis, a inteligência não lógica, é um fator decisivo para o entendimento dos elementos e processos dessa luta. Não entanto, o estudo da métis vem sendo sistematicamente relegado a um plano secundário ou reduzido a aforismos e máximas. Pouco ou nada se acrescentou a sua compreensão desde que os antigos gregos a identificaram e explicaram.
