COLLECTIVE ENTREPRENEURSHIP IS POSSIBLE? AN ANALYSIS OF THE FORMATION PROCESS OF COOPERATIVE RELATIONSHIPS IN NETWORK

Resumo: In the attempt to find economically sustainable strategies, many organizations are looking for different alternatives. In one of these alternatives, organizations tend to make use of cooperative practices of management, aiming to complement its potentialities. This work objective to analyze the process of networks appearing in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul, under the prism of entrepreneur agents. For that, it was tried to discover how these new forms of organization originated,  what are the factors that influence companies to adhere this cooperative process, how these horizontal relationships are structured and what forms of this new organizational structure to dissolve. For this analysis, it was studied 3 supermarket networks, and data was collected through 28 interviews. Results show that to be able to compete in this environment, company, almost necessarily, has to join a network. The acting focus of studied networks, despite limited, guarantees to its associates some benefits that they with difficulty would have individually. Despite studied networks do not aim new collective benefits, what generates opportunism between the actors, it was observed that creation of networks establish an excellent strategic alternative to companies survival.

Las relaciones de sociedad o cooperación buscan mejorar la capacidad de las organizaciones en sus relaciones de interdependencia, en el intento de mejorar la eficacia organizacional. Muchos estudios vienen corroborando con esa línea de pensamiento. La proposición central de las teorías expuestas es que las organizaciones insertadas en relaciones interorganizacionales, en general, y en redes, en particular, tienen mayor probabilidad de conquistar ventajas competitivas sustentables. Este trabajo tiene el objetivo de analizar el proceso de surgimiento de las redes en la Región Central del Estado de Rio Grande do Sul, bajo el prisma de los agentes emprendedores. Para ello, se buscó descubrir cómo esas nuevas formas de organización surgieron, cuáles son los factores que influyeron para que las empresas adhiriesen a ese proceso de cooperación, cómo se estructuran esas relaciones horizontales y cuáles son las formas de disolver de esa nueva estructura organizacional. Para ese análisis, fueron estudiadas 3 redes de supermercados, siendo que los datos fueron recogidos por medio de 28 entrevistas. Los resultados demuestran que para poder competir en ese ambiente, la empresa, casi necesariamente, tiene que entrar en una red. El enfoque de actuación de las redes estudiadas, a pesar de limitado, garantiza a sus asociados algunos beneficios que ellos difícilmente tendrían individualmente. A pesar de que las redes estudiadas no hayan anhelado nuevos beneficios colectivos, lo que genera oportunismo entre los actores, se observó que la formación de las redes se constituyó en una excelente alternativa estratégica para la supervivencia de las empresas.Na tentativa de encontrar estratégias economicamente sustentáveis, muitas organizações vêm buscando diversas alternativas. Os relacionamentos de parceria ou cooperação buscam melhorar a capacidade das organizações nas suas relações de interdependências, na tentativa de melhorar a eficácia organizacional. Muitos estudos vêm corroborando essa linha de pensamento. A proposição central das teorias expostas é que as organizações inseridas em relacionamentos interorganizacionais, em geral, e em redes, em particular, têm maior probabilidade de conquistarem vantagens competitivas sustentáveis. Este trabalho tem o objetivo de analisar o processo de surgimento das redes na Região Central do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul, sob o prisma dos agentes empreendedores.
