Resumo: An experience report of the researchers in the development of a qualitative research is presented. The limits and the possibilities found in the realization of the field work are described, while adopting participant observation and semi-structured interview as techniques for data collection. The importance of the involvement level of the researcher with the subjects and some aspects that may interfere in the results to be achieved are emphasized.

Son descritos los límites y las posibilidades encontradas en la realización del trabajo práctico, adoptándose la observación participante y la entrevista semiestructurada como técnicas para toma de datos. Se resalta la importancia del nivel de participación del pesquisador com los sujetos y algunos aspectos que pueden interferir en los resultados por ser atingidos.Apresenta-se um relato das experiências vivenciadas pelas pesquisadoras no desenvolvimento de uma pesquisa qualitativa. Descrevem-se os limites e as possibilidades encontradas na realização do trabalho de campo, adotando-se a observação participante e a entrevista semiestruturada como técnicas para coleta de dados.
