Resumo: Qualitative research with the objective of learning the care concept of the caregiver who is a member of the multiprofessional team working with hospitalized children with cancer. Fifteen pediatric caregivers from the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre took part of it. The data collected through semi-structured interviews have been submitted to content analysis. As to the theme category, Care Conception, caregivers regard care as Action, Tie, Presence, Feelings, and Promotion of personal and spiritual development.

Participaron 15 cuidadores pediátricos del Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre y las informaciones, recolectadas a través de una encuesta semiestructurada, fueron sometidas al análisis de contenido. En la categoría temática Concepción de Cuidado los cuidadores perciben el cuidado como Acción, Vínculo, Presencia, Sentimientos y Promoción del desarrollo personal y espiritual.Pesquisa qualitativa com objetivo de conhecer a concepção de cuidado para o cuidador, membro da equipe multiprofissional, que atua junto a crianças hospitalizadas com câncer. Participaram 15 cuidadores pediátricos do Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre e as informações, coletadas por meio de uma entrevista semi-estruturada, foram submetidas à análise de conteúdo.
