Resumo: | The objective of this investigation is to identify nurses perception about wards management. The collecting of the data was mode through an organized interview with sixteen nurses which works in patients wards in three hospitals of Porto Alegre. The data were examined based on the conteud analysis proposed by Bardin (1977). The results showed five categories: management conception, management characteristics, nurses activities, feelings and nursing graduation and induce us to do some reflexion about the curriculum modification, nurse – teachers improvement and the adjustment between the learning necessity and the work market. In this way is vital that professionals to look for best proficiency. |

In this way is vital that professionals to look for best proficiency.El objetivo de esta investigación es identificar cual es la percepción de los enfermeros com relación a la gerencia de los servicios de enfermería en una unidad de internación. Fueron realizadas entrevistas junto com dieciséis enfermeros de unidades de internación de tres hospitales de Porto Alegre, en el período de enero a febrero de 1996. Tratase un estudio exploratório – descriptivo, utilizando el metodo de análisis cualitativa, conforme Bardin (1977). La análisis de las declaraciones de los entrevistados nos llevaran a cinco categorías: definiendo la gerencia, características del gerente, actividades del enfermero, sentientos y formación académica. Los hallazgos de la investigación sugieren la necessidad de cambios en el currículun, el mejoramiento de los profesores, una ensañanza adecuada a las exigencias del mercado de trabajo y que los profesionales busquen una base concreta para su practica.O objetivo desta investigação é identificar qual a percepção dos enfermeiros em relação a gerência dos serviços de enfermagem em uma unidade de internação. Foram realizadas entrevistas junto a dezesseis enfermeiros de unidades de internação de três hospitais de Porto Alegre, no período de janeiro a fevereiro de 1996. Trata-se de um estudo exploratório – descritivo, utilizando uma metodologia de análise qualitativa, segundo Bardin (1977). A análise dos depoimentos, levaram-nos a cinco categorias que foram: definindo gerência, características do gerente, atividades do enfermeiro, sentimentos e formação acadêmica.
