Resumo: This article is the result of considerations resulting from the dissertation Meeting of care, lived and dialogued, of the nursing team with the child-being who lives with AIDS, which aimed at understanding the meaning of such care under the look of the Humanistic Nursing Theory of Paterson and Zderad. It is a phenomenologicalexistential and qualitative study with hermeneutic analysis proposed by Motta and Crossetti in the light of Ricouer. The expressiveness of caring was unveiled as: act of life; authentic; the lived and dialogued meeting; need for taking care of oneself as an opening for the meeting; maternity handling; the need of approaching the hospital world to the child‘s world and compassion attitude

Se constituyó en un estudio cualitativo-existencial-fenomenológico con análisis hermenéutico propuesto por Motta y Crossetti, bajo la luz de Ricoeur. Se ha desvelado la expresividad del cuidado como: acto de vida; auténtico; encuentro vivido y dialogado; necesidad de cuidar de sí para apertura al encuentro; maternidad; necesidad de acercar el mundo del hospital al mundo del niño y actitud de compasión.Este artigo é resultado de reflexões resultantes da dissertação Encontro de cuidado, vivido e dialogado, da equipe de enfermagem com o ser-criança que convive com AIDS, que objetivou compreender o significado deste cuidado sob o olhar da Teoria de Enfermagem Humanística de Paterson e Zderad. Constituiu-se em um estudo qualitativo existencial-fenomenológico com análise hermenêutica proposta por Motta e Crossetti, à luz de Ricoeur.
