Sheltering: the perception of women on the trajectory of childbearing

Resumo: The goal of the study was to know the expectation and perception of women about hospital care during childbirth. It is a qualitative research, of the descriptive-exploratory kind; it was developed on a teaching hospital, having as participants fourteen puerperal women. To the data collection a semi-structured interviews was used; to analyze and interpretation the information we used the Method of Qualitative Analysis of a Situated Phenomenon. The results indicated as one of the themes Perceiving the need of sheltering and welcoming on the trajectory of childbearing which is presented on this article. The obtained information reveal that women expect hospitalar sheltering and welcoming at the institutional, interpersonal and technical dimensions.

Tratase de una investigación cualitativa, descriptiva con catorce parturientes. El instrumento para recogida de los datos fue una entrevista semi estructurada. Para análisis y interpretación de las informaciones fue utilizado el Método Cualitativo del Fenómeno Situado. El artículo presenta uno de los temas que emergió de los datos: Percebiendo la necesidad de acogida en la trayectoria de parturición. El tema revela que las mujeres esperan ser acogidas en el hospital, tanto en la dimensión institucional cuanto en la personal y técnica.O objetivo do estudo foi conhecer as expectativas e percepções das mulheres sobre o atendimento hospitalar durante a parturição. A investigação é qualitativa do tipo descritivo exploratório, realizada em um hospital-escola, tendo como participantes quatorze puérperas. Utilizou-se como instrumento de coleta a entrevista semi-estruturada e para a análise e interpretação das informações o Método de Análise Qualitativa do Fenômeno Situado. Os achados indicaram como um dos temas Percebendo a necessidade do acolhimento na trajetória da parturição, o qual é apresentado nesse artigo.
