Resumo: This article discusses technical-instrumental action and strategic action in Nursing. The individual is selfcentered, and maintains unilateral points of view. Acting is at a conventional level of morality. By analyzing nurses’ reports of their practice, we investigated which rationale guides their action. We analyzed their expressions in Habermasian pragmatic-formal way, and we observed in the group the predominance of technical-instrumental and strategic acting. The possibility of communicative acting appears when self-centeredness and heteronomy are challenged, and, as a consequence, autonomy is enhanced.

El sujeto se coloca en una posición egocéntrica y mantiene sus puntos de vista unilateralmente. El desempeño se encuentra en el nivel convencional de moralidad. Nos esforzamos por buscar, a través de la reflexión sobre los relatos de las prácticas del personal de enfermería, qué razonamiento orienta su desempeño. Analizamos los actos del habla en forma pragmático-formal habermasiana y planteamos al grupo de reflexión, el predomino de un desempeño técnicoinstrumental y estratégico. La posibilidad del desempeño comunicativo aparece, cuando el centro y la heteronimia se cuestionan y surge, como consecuencia, un aumento de la autonomía.Preocupamo-nos com o agir técnico-instrumental e estratégico na enfermagem. O sujeito se posiciona de maneira egocentrada e mantém os pontos de vista unilaterais. O agir se encontra no nível convencional de moralidade. Nos empenhamos em buscar na reflexão sobre os relatos das práticas das enfermeiras, qual racionalidade que orienta o seu agir. Analisamos os atos de fala na forma pragmático-formal habermasiana e evidenciamos no grupo de reflexão a predominância do agir técnico-instrumental e estratégico.
