Resumo: This study aims to analyze the high cost medicines distribution, being aimed at to improve the quality of the hospital medical assistance given in the Region the Northwest of the Rio Grande do Sul. Analyzing specifically some medicines, one evidenced that to each year it increases the substance number to the disposal of the medical assistance, some with costs very raised. The used methodology is classified as exploratory, for extending the knowledge and promoting a quarrel regarding logistic of medicine distribution of the high risk in the hospital net of the Region Northwest of the Rio Grande do Sul. Beyond the quantitative boarding and of the historical and comparative procedure, as technique, bibliographical research, interviews and a mathematical model from the entire programming, using “to solve”, Excel´s program, to test it had been used, inserting given as population and distance between the cities. As result, the city of Santa Rosa was gotten as the best localization for the regional medicine center of high cost.

Analisando especificamente alguns medicamentos, constatou-se que a cada ano aumenta o número de substâncias à disposição da assistência médica, algumas com custos muito elevados. A metodologia utilizada classifica-se como exploratória, por ampliar os conhecimentos e promover uma discussão a respeito da logística de distribuição de medicamentos de alto risco na rede hospitalar da Região Noroeste do Rio Grande do Sul. Além da abordagem quantitativa e do procedimento histórico e comparativo, como técnica, foram utilizados pesquisa bibliográfica, entrevistas e um modelo matemático a partir da programação inteira, usando o “solver”, programa do Excel para testá-lo, inserindo dados como população e distância entre os municípios.
