Movement in the Career of Teachers of Basic Education in Pará cities from Performance: valorization or managerialism?

Resumo: The present study discusses the Performance Evaluation as a criterion of movement in the career of teachers from the Pará cities of Bannach and Parauapebas in the perspective of verifying whether the requirements used in this type of evaluation are related to the valuation of the teaching profession. Based on bibliographic and documentary research, the study showed that Performance Evaluation as a criterion for horizontal movement of teachers in their careers in the municipalities studied had little influence on the true process of valuing teaching, relating more to the productivity requirements typical of the managerial model of educational management, which uses all means to rationalize resources due to the minimization of expenses with social policies, than necessarily in the name of a professional valorization that is associated with quality socially referenced education.
