IFRN Student Assistance Funding: a relationship between enrollments and planned resources (2014-2019)

Resumo: | This article aims to analyze the relationship between the planned investments for Student Assistance at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN) and the increase in the number of enrollments at the institution, from 2014 to 2019. We made a brief history of Professional Education and how investments are made in the Federal Network of Education, Science and Technology and presented how Student Assistance is organized in the IFRN. As a methodological approach, we anchored in the qualitative aspects of the research based on literature reviews, with the construction of graphs and tables through specific software. We found that, proportionally, the growth between the two variables does not follow a pattern, which may lead to a smaller number of students served by student assistance in the future, jeopardizing the Institution's Permanence and Success Project due to the consequent increase in the IFRN evasion and repetition rate. |

Fizemos um breve histórico da Educação Profissional e de como se efetuam os investimentos na Rede Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia e apresentamos como a Assistência Estudantil está organizada no IFRN. Como abordagem metodológica, ancoramo-nos nos aspectos qualitativos da pesquisa a partir de revisões bibliográficas, com construção de gráficos e tabelas por meio de softwares específicos.
