Resumo: Considering the significant use of multilateral economic sanctions and the relative absence of studies analyzing its limits, impacts and even its internal working, this article retakes some important works about its achieved results and suggests a fail in the sanctions’ mechanism that could be responsible for its often alleged inefficiency.
