Resumo: O artigo tem como foco de reflexão a série fotográfica Lilith (2008), produzida pela artista visual brasileira Andréa Bracher (Porto Alegre, 196 9 ). Na série, composta por 10 imagens fotográficas em negativo vermelho, a artista se apropria e ressignifica imagens de crianças mortas, fotografadas como se vivas estivessem. De forma metafórica, as ambiguidades que permeiam a maternidade e os sentimentos contraditórios da mulher em relação a sua prole são problematizados. O suporte teórico para discutir tais questões vem de autores como Fernandes (2006); Laraia (1997); Trama (2016) e Parker (1997).
