Resumo: The article deals with the level of repression on Argentine labor activism between 1976 and 1983. A source calculates that 53.7% of all disappearances in Argentina, between 1976 and 1983, belong to the labor movement. Other estimates are higher. On December 1st, 1977, Senator Edward Kennedy read into the Congressional record of the United States an estimate on repression in Argentina. He calculated that 31.3% of the prison population was held as labor leaders or activists. This repression was massive until mid 1978, when it became selective, though it remained constant. The piece ends with a brief survey of the Political Investigations Directorate Archive of the Buenos Aires Provincial Police (DIPBA).
