The police in Hispanic America (1750-1820). Possibilities and perspectives of study with a Glocal approach

During the 18th century, the police acquired a greater systematization and plurality of powers, after having experienced an expansion of its field of action from the urban to the state. This overlapping of different discursive levels that occurred at that time and during the first decades of the 19th century, highlights the importance of complementing regional and national studies on the subject, with analysis of cases at the local level, which allow the identification of aspects that are not usually contemplated at macro levels. These local studies must, at the same time, be analyzed for the case of Hispanic America, within the framework of the general police policies of the metropolis. For this reason the application of the Glocal concept is of great interest, as its approach can contribute to studies such as those proposed here.
