Avá-Guarani and Ruralists in the process of demarcation of the Guasu Guavirá Indigenous Land (Western Paraná, 2000s and 2010s)

In this article, we intend to establish a narrative about the process of demarcation of Guasu Guavirá Indigenous Land in the west of Paraná, taking as reference the installation by Funai, in 2009 of the procedures established in Presidential Decree n. 1,775 / 96. In order to do so, the text focuses on the dispute between theAvá-Guarani natives and the movement that was formed in the region opposing the demarcation, in connection with demands and organizations of national scope, systematizing, interpreting and discussing the practices and arguments that were established during that process, both in defense and in opposition to the occupation of the original territories by indigenous peoples.
