Still invisible? Overview of studies on women and feminism in Brazilian communication congresses

Resumo: The research in communication on the issue of women and feminism has expanded in the last decade. We seek to identify the characteristics of this production, its themes, its inscriptions in the scientific fields, methodologies, the reference authors and the way they dialogue with assumptions of the feminist movement and the gender discussion, through mapping, description and analysis from 622 articles presented in the two main communication congresses in the Brazil, Intercom and Compós, between 2000 and 2019. We concluded, among other points, that the research is distributed throughout Brazil, there is a predominance of female researchers, hegemony representation and discourse studies and recurrence of male and European authors.

Um desafio que se coloca também é de ordem metodológica, que implica no recurso a métodos digitais para mapear e analisar grandes volumes de dados. Nesta pesquisa, são analisados 622 artigos apresentados nos dois principais congressos de Comunicação do Brasil, Intercom e Compós, entre 2000 e 2019.
