Resumo: In research on CSR in Brazil and Argentina, we saw a huge disparity in the grass-roots of the theme in each country. The hypothesis, stemming from this article, is that the great success of the CSR movement in Brazil and its relatively weak development in Argentina is due to the presence of a hegemonic dispute - in observed dynamic communication - among some segments of business elites regarding the purpose of CSR, present in the Brazilian case and absent in Argentina. This article intends to discuss the concept of hegemonic dispute - highlighting conflict as a fundamental social relationship in the configuration of network topographies of movements to promote CSR in both countries. Such an understanding is essential for professionals and researchers working in the area of organizational communication.

La hipótesis, de la cuál se deriva este artículo, es que el gran éxito del movimiento de RSE en Brasil y el escaso desarrollo en la Argentina se debe a la presencia de una disputa hegemónica – observable en las dinámicas comunicacionales - entre algunos segmentos de las élites empresariales sobre los sentidos de la RSE, presente en el caso de Brasil y ausente en Argentina. Este artículo se propone discutir el concepto de disputa hegemónica, poniendo de relieve el conflicto como una relación social fundamental en la configuración de las topografías de red de los movimientos para promover la RSE en ambos países. Esta comprensión es fundamental para los profesionales e investigadores que trabajan en el área de la comunicación organizacional.Em pesquisa sobre a RSE no Brasil e na Argentina, vimos uma enorme disparidade no enraizamento do tema em cada país. A hipótese da pesquisa, da qual se origina o presente artigo, é a de que o grande êxito do movimento pela RSE no Brasil e o fraco desenvolvimento na Argentina deve-se à presença de uma disputa hegemônica – observável em dinâmicas comunicacionais – entre certos segmentos das elites empresariais em torno do sentido da RSE, presente no caso brasileiro e ausente no argentino. Neste artigo pretende-se discutir o conceito de disputa hegemônica, evidenciando o conflito como relação social fundamental à configuração das topografias de rede dos movimentos de promoção da RSE nos dois países.
