Summary: The article discusses the possibility of considering the participation of interactors in social network sites as a news event dimension, to the extent that, by the recirculation, interactors can assign different and unexpected meanings to the event. We take as a starting point for the discussion, in an exploratory nature, the inauguration of the first stretch of the bike path from the Avenida Ipiranga, in Porto Alegre, Brazil, in May 2012.

El artículo discute la posibilidad de considerar la participación de interactores en las redes sociales como una dimensión del acontecimiento periodístico, en la medida en que, mediante la recirculación, los interactores pueden asignar diferentes y inesperados significados al evento. Tomamos como punto de partida para el debate, en un estudio exploratorio, la inauguración del primer tramo de camino para bicicleta de la Avenida Ipiranga, en Porto Alegre, Brasil, en mayo de 2012. O artigo discute a possibilidade de se considerar a participação dos interagentes em sites de redes sociais como uma dimensão do acontecimento jornalístico, na medida em que, através da recirculação, os interagentes podem atribuir sentidos diversos e inesperados ao acontecimento.
