Resumo: It is not always that journalistic discourse related to climate change links this phenomenon to agricultural and husbandry, which are considered one of its causes. In statements that link Boi, clima e ironia: a confluência de riscos envolvendo o discurso jornalístico e as mudanças climáticas Intexto, Porto Alegre, UFRGS, n. 39, p. 146-161, maio/ago. 2017. 161 husbandry to global warming it was possible to find the use of irony as a means to attract the attention of interlocutors and instate an environmental vigilance conduct. This article aims to investigate how journalistic discourse stands in relation to husbandry/climate change duo at different points in time. The study is qualitative and its theoretical-methodological foundation is provided by the French-school Discourse Analysis (DA), reinforced by Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), which allow the ideological aspects present in speech to be evaluated. Its results indicate that social-historical circumstances constrain the expression of these discourses, suggesting that there are different uses and functions of this figure of speech. The conclusion is that ironic discourse can pose a risk if the receiver does not understand the contradiction between the absurd interface and the implied seriousness.

The conclusion is that ironic discourse can pose a risk if the receiver does not understand the contradiction between the absurd interface and the implied seriousness.O discurso jornalístico sobre mudanças climáticas nem sempre associa esse fenômeno à agropecuária, considerada uma de suas causadoras. 2017; 146-161Intexto; n. 39, maio/ago. 2017; 146-161Intexto; n. 39, maio/ago. 2017; 146-161Intexto; n. 39, maio/ago. 2017; 146-161Intexto; n. 39, maio/ago. 2017; 146-1611807-8583reponame:Intexto (Porto Alegre)instname:Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS)instacron:UFRGSporhttps://seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/intexto/article/view/65431/40745Copyright (c) 2017 Ana Maria Dantas de Maiohttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessMaio, Ana Maria Dantas de2023-11-23T17:06:20Zoai:seer.ufrgs.br:article/65431Revistahttp://seer.ufrgs.br/intextoONGhttp://seer.ufrgs.br/intexto/oai||intexto@ufrgs.br1807-85831807-8583opendoar:2023-11-23T17:06:20Intexto (Porto Alegre) - Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS)false
