Resumo: His beautiful text, carved by the digital mark of its uniqueness, makes Roland Barthes a paradigmatic theoretical personality. He granted a statute to Semiology, as he provided it with a particular object of research. He tuned it in to the increasing influence of the Media that occurred mainly, in the second half of the 20th century. Barthes’ Semiology is full of particular features. It does not fit strictly into the linguistic frame. It calls for other frames. It seeks the translinguistic aspects. In this landscape, the role of the Media turns into an object of his semiological research. In the diagram of its limitations, the present essay will be conducted towards the relationships between Barthes’ Semiology and the Media. It will reflect on some basic categories that establish a symbiotical relationship between them.

En el diagrama de sus limitaciones, el presente ensayo se agenciará en las relaciones entre la Semiología barthesiana y la Media. Nessa paisagem, o papel da Mídia doa-se como objeto de suas pesquisas semiológicas. No diagrama de suas limitações, o presente ensaio se agenciará nas relações entre a Semiologia barthesiana e a Mídia.
