Resumo: | Publication in scientific journals is crucial for the internationalization efforts of researchers and institutions. The objective of this study is to analyze the internationalization of journals in which authors affiliated to a university ranked in the top ten in Brazil publishes, with the specific objectives of: a) to identify the language of the articles; b) to describe the distribution of titles and publishers; and c) to identify the type of access. The method was multidimentional and the data collected in the Web of Science database and on the journals site. The results show that the publications doubled in the period from 2010 to 2019, with emphasis on growth of Social Sciences. In general, 83% of the articles are published in English, in the Physical Sciences the percentage reaches 96%. The most article are published in commercial publishers, except in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences where universities predominate. The publisher with the largest number of articles and journals is Elsevier. The journal with the largest number of articles is PLOS One, followed by several Brazilian open access journal. The conclusion shows a remarkable behavioral diversity between the areas of knowledge, which points to the need to clearly define what internationalization is for the different areas. The predominance of commercial publishers in number of articles and journals, head by Elsevier, show the evasion of scientific records, paid for ‘peripheral’ public resources, for the custody of companies linked to academic publishers oligopoly. |

2021; 215-242Em Questão; v.27, n.4, out./dez. 2021; 215-242Em Questão; v.27, n.4, out./dez. 2021; 215-2421808-52451807-8893reponame:Em Questão (Online)instname:Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS)instacron:UFRGSporhttps://seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/EmQuestao/article/view/108042/64092Copyright (c) 2021 Rosângela Schwarz Rodrigues, Ernest Abadal, Patrícia da Silva Neubert, Miguel Navas-Fernandezhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessRodrigues, Rosângela SchwarzAbadal, ErnestNeubert, Patrícia da SilvaNavas-Fernandez, Miguel2023-11-30T18:12:42Zoai:seer.ufrgs.br:article/108042Revistahttps://seer.ufrgs.br/emquestao/PUBhttps://seer.ufrgs.br/EmQuestao/oaiemquestao@ufrgs.br||emquestao@ufrgs.br1808-52451807-8893opendoar:2023-11-30T18:12:42Em Questão (Online) - Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS)false |
