Resumo: This study aims to make available subsidies that contribute to the study of medical files and medical records of patients. To this, it explores the Electronic Health Record (EHR) as memory and documentary heritage and culture, and preservation of electronic documents. This article also intends to emphasize the importance of advancing technology in the production of documents and exchange of information in digital media. Methodologically, there was a bibliography research, to better knowledge about the proposed theme: the preservation of records, memory, documentary heritage and culture. At first, talks over the use of technology and the vulnerability of digital documents. After, considers the Electronic Patient Medical Record (PEP), trying to defend it as documentary heritage and culture.

Por lo tanto, se quiere aquí abordar el tema “Prontuário Eletrônico de Pacientes (PEP)”, la ficha clínica electrónica como memoria, patrimonio documental y cultural, y la preservación de los documentos electrónicos. Esta propuesta se justifica por la importancia del avance de la tecnología en la producción de documentos y el cambio de informaciones en el medio digital. De forma metodológica, se realizó un levantamiento bibliográfico, para que se tenga un conocimiento más profundo con el tema: preservación documental, memoria, patrimonio documental y cultura. En un primer momento se habla sobre el uso de la tecnología y la vulnerabilidad de los documentos digitales. Luego, se conceptua el “Prontuário Eletrónico de Paciente (PEP)”, la ficha clínica electrónica, buscando defendérsela como patrimonio documental y cultural.RESUMOEste estudo tem como objetivo fornecer subsídios que contribuam para o estudo dos arquivos médicos e do prontuário de pacientes. Para tanto, aborda-se o tema Prontuário Eletrônico de Pacientes (PEP) como memória e patrimônio documental e cultural, e a preservação de documentos eletrônicos. A justificativa para esta proposta volta-se à importância do avanço da tecnologia na produção de documentos e à troca de informações em meio digital. Metodologicamente, realizou-se um levantamento bibliográfico, para maior familiaridade com o tema proposto: preservação de documentos, memória, patrimônio documental e cultura. Em um primeiro momento, discorre-se sobre o uso da tecnologia e a vulnerabilidade dos documentos digitais.
