Resumo: This article focuses on the way Visão magazine, a publication that built a leftist “signature” along its trajectory, counting on a group of journalists and contributors identified with leftist political postures, organized a section about book reviews during the force of AI-5. The analysis of this material (particularly the reviews from 1973, period in which Vladimir Herzog coordinated the group of journalists) shows how the defense of freedom in the cultural production and the criticism to the mass culture was present on the pages of the magazine that presented a conflicting vision with the one intended by the system.

El análisis de ese material (en especial de las reseñas del año de 1973, el período en que Vladimir Herzog coordinaba el equipo de periodistas) demuestra como la defensa de la libertad para la producción cultural y la crítica a la cultura de masa se hicieron presentes en las páginas de la revista que presentaba una visión opuesta a la pretendida por el régimen.Esse artigo enfoca como a revista Visão, uma publicação que ao longo de sua trajetória construiu uma “marca” de esquerda, contando com um conjunto de jornalistas e colaboradores identificados com posições políticas de esquerda, elaborava a seção de resenha de livros durante o período de vigência do AI-5.
