Resumo: This article is a personal and original analysis of the ancient Egyptian concepts of ressurrection and immortality, as seen under the XVIII' Dynasty. Using textu-al, iconographic and archaeological evidence, the author tries to perceive and explain how the differents ancient explanations have all a common root. The purpose of this article is, then, to display the general development of Egyptian mortuary thought. The analysis is based on private funerary material, mainly from Thebes, Amarna and Memphis, even if the Provinces are not completely discarded. The text served previously as a chapter of the author's MA dissertation, presented in 1994.
