Resumo: Diabetes mellitus is a major health problem, especially for pregnant women. Monitoring prenatal care for diabetic pregnant women reduces the risk of perinatal complications, leading to a better outcome in labour, both for the mother and the newborn. Objective: to identify the main perinatal outcomes of pregnant women diagnosed with Diabetes mellitus and taking insulin, at a maternity teaching hospital in Rio de Janeiro. Method: a descriptive study with a quantitative approach. Data was collected in November and December 2023, after approval by the Ethics Committee, from pharmaceutical care records. The selection criteria were: data from pregnant women seen at the diabetes outpatient clinic undergoing insulin therapy recorded between 1st January and 31st December 2022. IBM SPSS software was used to analyse the data. Results: Data from 251 pregnant women were included. Of these, 54.98% were aged between 31 and 40, were single (49.40%), mixed race (47.41%), had completed high school or incomplete higher education (52.19%), were taking medication (76.49%), had a caesarean section (71.71%) and a single pregnancy (93.85%). The neonates had a first-minute Apgar score greater than seven (81.54%), 16.54% were sent to the ICU at birth, and 1.54% died after birth (neonatal death). The women's admission period ranged from 1 to 21 days and there were no maternal deaths. Conclusion: Multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary care has the potential to prevent negative perinatal outcomes in pregnant women diagnosed with Diabetes mellitus.

Conclusion: Multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary care has the potential to prevent negative perinatal outcomes in pregnant women diagnosed with Diabetes mellitus.O Diabetes mellitus é um importante agravo à saúde e, em especial, para as gestantes.
