Resumo: This paper aims to understand the introduction of anthropological theories in the city of Salvador, in particular, the contribution of Dr. Nina Rodrigues to the construction of the social imaginary between the final decades of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Period marked by changes in the social structure and the rise of the medical profession, which, under the influence of ideas of progress, would alter the configuration of urban spaces and, consequently, the daily lives of the local population.
