Resumo: This text aims to discuss how the signature “Gustavo Barroso” becomes autonomous through the analysis of the narrative discourse of A ronda dos séculos (1933). Based on the studies of Gérard Genette, he shows that the signature alludes to a set of discursive strategies, to Catholic religiosity and anti-Semitism. It concludes that the understanding of the intellectual Gustavo Barroso must include the meaning of this signature, present in all his books since the 1930s. KEYWORDS: Gustavo Barroso. Partindo dos estudos de Gérard Genette, mostra que a assinatura alude a um conjunto de estratégias discursivas, à religiosidade católica e ao antissemitismo. Conclui que a compreensão do intelectual Gustavo Barroso deve incluir o significado dessa assinatura, presente em todos os seus livros a partir da década de 1930. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Gustavo Barroso.
