Fashion opera in Manaus: a theoretical-semiotic basis to subject and descriptive representation of the costumes in lyric spectacles

Resumo: The article proposes a theoretical-semiotic basis for the subject and descriptive representation of opera costumes. This is a research linked to an institutional project developed at the Federal University of Amazonas to create a Virtual Catalog of the Manauara Opera. Its objective is to develop a descriptive and subject representation tool for opera costumes. The research uses the semiotics of culture as a theoretical basis for the proposed tool. The tool was applied to a total of 48 opera and four musicals performed between 1997 and 2011 at the Amazonas Opera Festival. It is expected, therefore, to contribute to the rescue and maintenance of both artistic and cultural heritage of the city of Manaus, in order to provide its recoverability in information systems.

A ficha elaborada foi aplicada a um total de 48 espetáculos de ópera e quatro musicais realizados entre os anos de 1997 e 2011 por ocasião do Festival Amazonas de Ópera.
