THE PERCEPTION AND PROFILE OF STUDENTS NOT COUNT ON TEACHING METHODS OF DISCIPLINE OF COSTS

Resumo: The professionals working in corporate governance include a broad knowledge of their area and similar areas, so the not accountant students, as administrators and economists, must have knowledge and understanding of accounting information to assist in the management and decision making. The discipline of Cost Methodology (CM) aims to contribute to this knowledge. The objective of this study is to identify perception and profile of the not accountant students about the teaching of the discipline of Cost Methodology in classroom courses in Porto Alegre/RS. The research is classified as quantitative, qualitative, exploratory, descriptive and as a survey, through a questionnaire applied to students enrolled in the second half of 2011 in the discipline of CM of undergraduate courses in related areas, especially Business Administration and Economics, in universities located in Porto Alegre/RS. The profile of the students has indicated that they have an average age of 25 years and the number of women is about 9% higher than men. From the analysed sample, about 3/4 are coursing Business Administration. Most students has attended the greatest part of the high school in public institutions and more than 4/5 has a paid job. Regarding the perception of students about the course, the best methods for teaching CM are lectures, case studies and lists of exercises. About the professors, the students have recognized their capacity and availability. The variables that cause difficulties in the learning process were the workload, which reduces the time available for study and the students don´t get dedicate as they should and, the subject content is not easy to understand. The variable facilitator of the learning process is the requirement prerequisites for enrollment in the course. Keywords: Teaching. Cost Methodology. Undergraduate courses.

Undergraduate courses.El profesional que actua en la gestión de la compañia ofrece um gran conocimiento de su campo y de otros campos relacionados, asi el estudiante no contabilista, como los administradores y economistas, debe tener el conocimento y la comprensión de las informaciones contables para auxiliar en la gestión y tomada de decisiones. La disciplina de Metodología de costos (MC) tiene como objetivo contribuir a ese conocimiento. Así, el objetivo de ese estudio es identificar la percepcion y el perfil del estudiante no contabilista sobre la enseñanza de la disciplina de Metodologia de Costos en los cursos presenciales en la ciudad de Porto Alegre / RS. La pesquisa realizada es clasificada como: cuantitativa, cualitativa, exploratoria, descriptiva y como survey, a traves de un cuestionário aplicado a los Estudiantes matriculados en el segundo semestre de 2011, en la disciplina de MC, de los cursos de graduación en áreas relacionadas, especialmente en Administración y Ciências Económicas, en las Instituciones de Educación Superior situadas en Porto Alegre / RS. El perfil de los Estudiantes indicó que ellos tienen una edad mediana de 25 años y que el numero de mujeres es de aproximadamente 9% superior a de los hombres. De la amuestra analisada, aproximadamente las tres cuartas partes están estudiando Administración. La mayoría asistió la mayor parte del ensino mediano en instituciones públicas y más de las cuatro quintas partes exercen actividad remunerada. En lo que se refiere la percepción de los Estudiantes acerca de la disciplina, los mejores métodos para la enseñanza de la MC residen en las clases expositivas, estudios de casos y listas de ejercícios. Cuanto a los profesores, los Estudiantes reconocieron su capacidad y disponibilidad. Las variables que dificultan el proceso de apredizage fueron la carga de trabajo, lo que reduce el tiempo disponible para el estudio y los estudiantes terminan por no se dedicar adecuadamente a la disciplina y;  el contenido de la disciplina no es de fácil comprensión.  La variable facilitadora del proceso de aprendizage es la exigência de requisitos previos para la inscripción en la disciplina. Palabras-clave: Enseñanza. A disciplina de Metodologia de Custos (MC) tem como propósito contribuir para este conhecimento. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo é identificar a percepção e o perfil do discente não contador sobre o ensino da disciplina de Metodologia de Custos em cursos presenciais na cidade de Porto Alegre/RS. A pesquisa realizada é classificada como: quantitativa, qualitativa, exploratória, descritiva e como survey, por meio de um questionário aplicado aos discentes matriculados, no segundo semestre de 2011, na disciplina de MC, dos cursos de graduação em áreas afins, especialmente em Administração e Ciências Econômicas, nas Instituições de Ensino Superior, localizadas em Porto Alegre/RS. O perfil dos discentes indicou que eles possuem idade média de 25 anos e que o número de mulheres é cerca de 9% superior ao de homens. Da amostra analisada, cerca de 3/4 cursam Administração. A maioria cursou a maior parte do ensino médio em instituições públicas e mais de 4/5 exerce atividade remunerada. No que tange a percepção dos discentes acerca da disciplina, os melhores métodos para o ensino da MC residem em aulas expositivas, estudos de casos e listas de exercícios. Quanto aos professores, os discentes reconheceram sua capacidade e disponibilidade. As variáveis dificultadoras do processo de aprendizagem foram a carga horária de trabalho, que reduz o tempo disponível ao estudo e os discentes acabam não dedicando adequadamente à disciplina e; o conteúdo da disciplina não é de fácil entendimento.
