Elaboração e análise de mapas de caracterização do bairro de Petrópolis em Natal/RN entre os anos de 1990 e 2010

Resumo: The city of Natal had an intense real estate development between 1990 and 2010. Throughout this period, the production of multifamily vertical buildings stands out, built under the real estate incorporation system, with varying patterns, which can switch from the ones financed by government programs such as Minha Casa, Minha vida (PMCMV) to buildings with high standards, typical on the East Zone of the town. As a way of refining the analysis of this production’s spatial distribution, this article suggests a first approximation about the use of the Geographic Information System (GIS). All the 34 real estate ventures that were registered in the neighborhood of Petropolis during the aforementioned decades were analyzed, with the focus on 3 criteria, which are: verticalization (variable – number of floors), pattern (variable – number of suites) and production cost (variable – cost per square meter).

Ao longo desse período destaca-se a produção de edifícios verticais multifamiliares, construídos sob o sistema de incorporação imobiliária, com padrões variados, que vão desde aqueles financiados pelo programa Minha Casa, Minha Vida (PMCPV) até aos edifícios de alto padrão, característicos da Zona Leste da cidade. Como forma de refinar a análise da distribuição espacial desta produção, esse artigo propõe uma primeira aproximação sobre o uso do Sistema de Informação Geográfica (SIG).
