Resumo: | Music is an important influence in terms of physical exercise. Several authors have observed the effect that the preferred music and not preferred because in performing aerobic exercises, there is no consensus among the results. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect caused by the preferred and not preferred songs on the number of repetitions, perceived exertion and emotional valence during a strength training session. They selected seven individuals, all male, which were initially submitted to the readiness questionnaire of physical activity and cardiovascular risk factors. 1 Repetition Maximum protocol was applied (1RM) for bench press exercise and the frontal pull open. After that all volunteers underwent three strength training sessions with the training protocol to the maximum voluntary exhaustion, using 60% of the load analyzed during the 1 RM test. Were collected during the session, perceived exertion responses, according to the Borg scale adapted by Foster and affection answers using the affective valence scale. It was verified significant difference between measures with preferred and not preferred music when compared with the control group for any of the variables (number of repetitions, PSE and affective valence). This result may be linked to the fact that the stimulus of time during the test conducted was not enough to offer variation in perceptions of individuals. |
