Resumo: Neste trabalho, temos como foco central o tratamento da mudança linguística sob a ótica da Linguística Funcional. Nosso objetivo é traçar um breve histórico da abordagem desse fenômeno a partir de vieses distintos no âmbito do paradigma funcionalista, procurando identificar avanços e aprimoramentos das pesquisas sobre esse tema. Para tanto, recuperamos, primeiramente, estudos da gramaticalização no quadro da Linguística Funcional clássica, ou de vertente norte-americana. Em seguida, focalizamos a proposta que buscou articular o estudo da gramaticalização ao conceito de construção. Por fim, apresentamos a abordagem construcionista de mudança linguística, especialmente na linha de Traugott e Trousdale (2013) bem como na de Hilpert (2013a, 2013b)

Our aim is to draw a brief record of how this grammatical phenomenon has been approached from distinct biases within the scope the functionalist paradigm, attempting to identify advances and improvements of the researches on this subject. Therefore, we first recover studies on grammaticalization in the framework of classic Functional Linguistics, or North-American strand. Afterwards, we focus on the proposal that tried to articulate the study of grammaticalization to the concept of the construction.
