Resumo: The objective of the study was to estimate fatigue in Parkinson's disease (PD) and to correlate with demographic characteristics, fear of falls, sleep, stage of the disease, motor function and activities of daily living. This is a cross-sectional study, carried out at the Physiotherapy outpatient integrated clinic of the FACISA/ UFRN. The following measuring instruments were used: Modified Hoehn and Yahr Scale, Parkinson’ s Fatigue Scale (PFS-16), subscale II and III of the Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS), Sleep Scale for PD (PDSS. The sample was formed by convenience and composed of 10 patients with DP, which 80% indicated fatigue as a problem. However, no significant correlations were found between PFS-16 and any of the variables. Due to its high prevalence, we believe that fatigue is an important component in clinical practice and there is a need for research to develop therapeutic approaches to this symptom.

Trata-se de uma pesquisa de caráter transversal, realizado no ambulatório de Fisioterapia da Clínica integrada da Facisa/UFRN. Foram utilizados os seguintes instrumentos de medida: Escala de Hoehn e Yahr modificada, Escala de fadiga (PFS-16), subescala II e III da Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS), Escala de sono para DP (PDSS). A amostra foi formada por conveniência e composta por 10 pacientes com DP, desses 80% apontavam a fadiga como um problema. No entanto, não foram encontradas correlações significativas entre PFS-16 com nenhuma das variáveis.
