Resumo: Introduction: Stroke is a sudden loss of neurological function caused by an interruption of blood flow, ischemic or hemorrhagic, leaving most survivors with residual neurological deficits that impair function and mobility. Objective: To evaluate the functional performance of post-stroke patients by the Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB). Methodology: An observational, analytical, cross-sectional study with a sample of 14 individuals with a diagnosis of stroke (57.1% female) with a mean age of 60.1 years. The socio-demographic profile was drawn by a pre-structured evaluation form, followed by the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE), Ashworth Modified Scale (EMA), Fugl-Meyer Physical Protocol (FM), Measure Of Functional Independence (MIF) and the Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB).Results: The study found no significant correlation between lower limb tone (p = 0.051), functional independence (p = 0,328), sensorimotor impairment (p = 0,478) and mobility measured by SPPB in post-stroke patients. However, only one individual was able to achieve good physical performance in SPPB. Conclusion: There was no statistically significant correlation between the functional capacity measured by SPPB and the other scales evaluated. Such a finding can be explained by the lack of validation of the scale for this specific population studied.
