Due to urban expansion, old industrial areas are relocated to new poles on the city border, but leaving their old factory complexes in the new centralities. Often in situation of abandonment, these lands of great location and commercial value, are highly coveted by the real estate market, which, for many times, do not see cultural value in these buildings, thus causing a process of devaluation, idleness and disappearance. In addition, many of the interventions made in these typologies disregard their specificities and use factories for adaptability to multiple uses. In this context, the objective of projeto is to develop a proposal of adaptive reuse to the Simas Industrial factory building, adapting it to the new use of a cultural center focused on plastic and manuals arts, but seeking to respect the relations and particularities of the whole.building. The final product aligns the theory of restoration to architectural practice, making a synthesis of the concepts of juxtaposition, continuity and uniformity, looking for different ways of relating the preexistence, in order to value it and resiginify its space, evidencing the time of each work.
