Resumo: With the theme Prison Unit of Resocialization, within the study field that is related to the architectural design, this study developed a draft of a penitentiary with resocialization practices in the Metropolitan Region of Natal. Following the specific legislation for this type of project, respecting all human rights, utilizing an aesthetic form with little visual impact and thinking about the comfort and site security, it was possible to develop a functional draft of a prison unit, where inmates’ time is fully occupied by activities related to work, education and religion, in addition to psychological counseling, health and leisure options for days off.
