Resumo: | New alternative technologies to conventional rotary instruments has aroused interest in many researches, allowing occurs a breakthrough in clinical procedures in pediatric dentistry. One of them are the diamond points CVDentus associated with the ultrasound device. The ultrasonic abrasion technology stands out for performing tooth wear through vibration, generating less noise, heat and pressure during preparation of cavities. It thus provides greater safety and comfort to the patient, contributing to reduced levels of fear and anxiety during dental treatment. This study aimed to present a review of the literature on the use of diamond burs CVDentus in child dental care, evaluating clinical and behavioral aspects and investigate their cutting characteristics compared to conventional rotating device in vitro. The survey was conducted from the detailed search of the literature in the following databases: LILACS, PubMed, Cochrane Library, SciELO and Google Scholar. Experimental studies, such as randomized controlled trials and in vitro studies were included in this review without publication year limit. 118 articles, 7 selected for this study were found. Through existing studies, it is evident that the ultrasonic abrasion may be a promising alternative for the production of cavity preparations in pediatric dentistry, but the shortage of articles evaluating the use of CVDentus tips on child dental care shows the need for further studies employing this technology, with larger samples to confirm the satisfactory characteristics of this system. |

Uma delas são as pontas diamantadas CVDentus, associadas ao aparelho de Ultrassom. A tecnologia de abrasão ultrassônica destaca-se por realizar o desgaste dentário através de vibração, gerando menos ruído, calor e pressão durante o preparo de cavidades. Dessa forma, proporciona maior segurança e conforto ao paciente, contribuindo para a redução dos níveis de medo e ansiedade frente ao tratamento odontológico. Este trabalho teve como objetivo apresentar uma revisão sistemática sobre a utilização de pontas diamantadas CVDentus no atendimento odontológico infantil, avaliando aspectos clínicos e comportamentais, bem como investigar as suas características de corte comparadas ao instrumento rotatório convencional in vitro. A pesquisa foi realizada a partir da busca detalhada da literatura disponível nas seguintes bases de dados: LILACS, PUBMED, biblioteca Cochrane, SciELO e Google Acadêmico. Estudos experimentais, como ensaios clínicos randomizados e estudos in vitro, foram incluídos nesta revisão, sem limite de ano de publicação. Foram encontrados 118 artigos, sendo 7 selecionados neste trabalho.
