This article presents a study about democratic management in school. It addresses the fact that school democratization does not only consist of access to education, but also the participation of all representatives of the school community in decision-making or in the construction of a democratic-participative management. Role as the coordinator of this process. It is known that even with advances in this aspect, there is still a need to deepen understanding around this issue, expanding the spaces for discussion and joining efforts in the struggle for effective democratic management, a fundamental condition for the improvement of education. Thus, the present proposal had as its focus a research on the mechanisms of participation of the school community in the construction of a democratic school, the actions that favor this participation and of determining factors for the effectiveness of democracy in the school environment. The methodology for the development of this article was based on bibliographic research, as a way of answering our concerns regarding democratic management and the mechanisms that govern it. For this reason, we support mainly the ideas of authors such as Gadotti (2000, 2001, 2008), BRAZIL (2004, 2007), Veiga (1995, 1997, 1998, 2002, 2008), Libâneo , Lück (2000, 2006, 2010) and Paro (2005, 2006) among other theorists who deal with school democratic management, guiding our understanding of what democratic management is, and which extends from education systems to schools.
