Comercio exterior do Rio Grande do Norte: trajetória recente de sua inserção internacional (2010 - 2015)

The study deals with the commercial insertion of Rio Grande do Norte state in the period between 2010 and 2015 and aims to identify possible changes in commercial trajectory from the analysis of the export tariff / import of these states. Specifically seeks to identify the main products exported / imported, according to aggregate factor, besides the analysis of the main destinations and origins of these products. The methodological procedures permeated the following steps: (i) literature review, aiming to build a panorama that allows to understand how and why countries conduct international exchanges with each other, beyond the interpretation of the role of the firm as capital appreciation unit, as well as examination of the internationalization of production process; (Ii) survey of data for the of Rio Grande do Norte state, from the information provided by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics - IBGE, whose aim is to characterize the socioeconomic structure of the same; (Iii) collection of data relating to the foreign trade of Rio Grande do Norte state from the information provided by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, through the Secretariat of Foreign Trade - MDIC / SECEX and the Federation of Rio de Janeiro State Industries big North - FIERN, in order to investigate the international trade structure of this state; iv) systematization of data and evaluation of results. The results demonstrate that the Rio Grande do Norte has a productive structure directed mainly to the export of commodities such as fruit- especially the Melão-, sea salt and fish. The state imports are up primarily of fuels and raw materials used in industry. The main export destination countries are those that make up the European Union and Mercosur, besides the US, Mexico and Nigeria. The imports come from the European Union, Mercosur, and countries like USA, China and Mexico.
