This article focuses on the contribution of the games in early childhood education and its goal is to understand this contribution from major theorists who deal with the subject under study. In Brazil, it is our knowledge that early childhood education is one of the stages of basic education and it materialized from the current educational legislation in recent decades. In this context, we have chosen as research questions, the following questions: how theoretical dealing games can contribute to the world of children's education? To what extent teachers can use the games as a learning tool in this stage of basic education? These were the questions that guided our journey of research. The main theorists who anchored the study were: Kishimoto (1997.2009), Almeida (2000), Antunes (2004.2006), among others, as well as also the National Referential Curriculum from Kindergarten - RCNEI (BRAZIL, 1998). Because it is essentially a bibliographic work, the methodology adopted was the reading and interpretation of the theme from the chosen and researched theoretical studies. As a result, we understand and agree that games can contribute to the learning of children studying in kindergarten.
