With the growth of the Third Sector in the recent decades, this has been ramified through several areas in the need of today's society, it can be highlighted the strong rise of social projects linked to NGOs and other institutions that focus on music education which is inserted on the right sociocultural context . This present paper discusses the importance of music education in the context of the Third Sector, bringing to practice a study of case which is about a NGO named, Atitude Cooperação that is located on the west side of the city of Natal- RN, in the neighborhood of Bom Pastor. The NGO has existed since 2006 and receives financial support from Unimed Natal as well as other partners such as the schools of the neighborhood. It has presented a good development in various projects and programs which aim to improve the social life quality of the neighborhood. One of the highlight projects is Tocando a Vida com D’Amore that started on the year of 2011 and currently has 121 students that are studying music. It was chosen as theoretical reference some authors as: Kleber (2006); Bozon (2000); Correia (2010); Schaller (2005); Hudson (1999); Falconer (1999).
