Resumo: | Increasingly it is necessary that the teacher get hold of different teaching methodologies that allows the student a greater interest in mathematical knowledge. This study aims to analyze the relevance of different teaching methodologies and pedagogical tools that can help the teacher in the classroom acting as an instrument to promote a meaningful learning for the student. In the present study it deals in particular the history of mathematics, educational games, the concrete material and Information and Communication Technologies – through some of the features of the GeoGebra software – in teaching and learning the Pythagorean theorem. It was investigated the history of the Pythagorean School, where mathematics and religiosity were mingled, and some of the Pythagorean theorem proofs. It has been found through studies that the history of mathematics is revealed as an important support tool for teachers in their classes, that through the game, the student begins to use mathematics in a natural and playful way allowing you to approach it as something that is present in their daily lives, not only at school but in various situations of their everyday life and that the use of GeoGebra can facilitate the process and visualization of proofs. |

O presente estudo objetiva analisar a relevância de diferentes metodologias de ensino e ferramentas pedagógicas que poderão auxiliar o professor em sala de aula tendo como perspectiva, promover uma aprendizagem significativa para o aluno. Assim, no presente estudo trata-se em específico da História da Matemática, dos jogos educativos, do material concreto e das Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação – por meio de alguns dos recursos do software GeoGebra – no ensino e na aprendizagem do Teorema de Pitágoras. Investigou-se a história da Escola Pitagórica, onde se mesclava matemática e religiosidade, e algumas das demonstrações do Teorema de Pitágoras.
