O processo de formação da identidade profissional: possibilidades fornecidas pelo curso de pedagogia presencial da UFRN

This study sought to understand how the Undergraduate Degree in Pedagogy of UFRN, face modality, provides grants for the professional identity formation of the educator. To this end, a survey of nineteen graduates of the school year of 2015.1 of that course was held. The literature review points out the importance of the construction of professional identity for the performance of teachers, revealing that this construct articulates social and personal identity. The research is characterized as descriptive, it was used the technique of application semi-structured questionnaires containing 16 questions that included questions about the course and the theme of professional identity, in addition to a socio-demographic profile. The participants were exclusively female and said to be satisfied with their choice of course (95%), who was made by personal conviction (64%) and said that the University actually contributed to the construction of their professional identities (100%), but they found it difficult to specify this contribution, which probably reveals a difficulty in the very concept of professional identity. The collected data is converging with several other researches on the subject, but show the need for further researches in order to consolidate the understanding of the real role of initial training Degrees in the construction of professional identity. As this is a timely study, points out the need to expand it to other graduates of this Degree, which can support discussions about the curriculum and the graduate's profile.
